Amazon connection - Exhibition on 22 January 2018

On the 22th of January 2018, Fern will present Amazon-connection, an exhibition of video, acoustic and photographic art co-hosted by the European Parliament.

Join us from 18:30 to 20:30 for a discussion on the state-of-play in the Amazon forest, co-hosted by MEP Maria Noichl, S&D, European Parliament Vice President Heidi Hautala, Greens/EFA, and MEP Sirpa Pietikäinen, EPP, in the presence of the artists and anthropologist Dr. Stephen Hugh-Jones.

Artists from Brazil, Colombia and Europe offer unique, moving perspectives on the beauty of the Amazon.

Roberta Carvalho is a pioneer in connecting the Brazilian Amazon in urban spaces through video projections.

Bárbara Santos has been working as a visual artist with the Pira Piraná indigenous community in the Colombian Amazon for more than ten years. Together with shaman Reynel Yai Hoa and Dr. Stephen Hugh-Jones, she creates visual and acoustic art work.

Daniel Beltrá, globally recognised nature photographer and Wildlife Photographer of the Year (2011), presents his new Amazon photo series.
