The "avoidable crisis" is an investigation that reveals the disastrous impacts caused by soy production in Argentina and Paraguay’s Gran Chaco. The soy is then sent to feed and meat processors and used to raise the livestock for the chicken, pork, beef, eggs, and dairy sold by many European supermarkets and restaurants.
The report calls on the European Union to regulate its imports of forest risk commodities to ensure that they are are free from deforestation, human rights abuses and land grabs.
