The EU is developing regulation that will impact companies trading in Forest Risk Commodities. It aims to ensure companies remove deforestation and, hopefully, human rights violations from their supply chains. The US has presented a deforestation bill for the Senate proposing a prohibition on the importation of commodities produced on illegally deforested land and products made from such commodities and the UK has proposed amendments to the Environment Bill, proposing a due diligence obligation on illegal deforestation on companies.
